At higher price points, lot premiums, structural options and upgrades can move total cost as much as the base price.
Our comparison criteria
- Price "from", exactly as the builder publishes it
- Home types (single-family, townhome, etc.)
- Home sizes (square feet, bedrooms)
- HOA dues, assessments and PID/special district charges
- Lot premiums
- Included features vs. paid upgrades
- Current offers, with their terms and end date
The biggest incentive isn't always the lowest total cost. Same criteria for every builder; we don't rank builders.

- Ask for lot premiums in writing for the lots you are considering.
- Get the structural options list and prices before you sign.
- Ask what is included vs. upgrade for finishes and appliances.
- Compare warranty terms in writing.
- Consider independent inspections at pre-drywall and final.
